ARK Education InitiativeARK Education Initiative prepares teachers and students with the skills and mindset to comprehend and apply emerging technologies toward solving problems. We do this by providing educational curriculum materials and teacher training to schools and districts interested in the application and practice of innovation and critical thinking skills. We believe students who develop an innovative mindset will positively change how the world works and solve some of the most persistent problems being faced today
The ARK Education Initiative was established by ARK Invest’s CEO, Cathie Wood. She serves as Chair of the Executive Board. She is a successful investor in disruptive technology and feels a responsibility to help students and families navigate the impending technological changes she sees in her work. Members of the ARK Invest leadership also serve on the ARK Education Initiative’s Advisory Board. Most importantly, ARK Invest’s research analysts collaborate with our education team. We utilize their research and expertise to create age-appropriate curriculum based on the technologies monitored by ARK Invest. This access to ARK research analysts in developing curriculum is unique in the field of education.
We provide teachers with a series of online professional development strategies tied directly to the teaching of the ARK modules. This problem-based teacher development is also followed up with classroom support. We also support administrators by working with district leadership to address and exceed student achievement standards. Our goal is to increase teacher effectiveness and student innovation and achievement.
ARK Education Initiative is in the process of creating a Learning Management System (LMS) that will house online teacher training and modular support. Teachers will be able to access training materials for each module and obtain individual support when needed. Teachers can view the training materials as frequently as needed for each module.
Each ARK Education module is based on specific educational standards and a current technology. All modules are presented in a problem-first methodology format. Students are actively engaged with solutions to relevant, real-world problems that require a considerable amount of research and inquiry. This engagement is designed to go beyond the classroom and assist to identify local business partners in creating innovative solutions.
Absolutely, our curriculum can be implemented as a complete program or purchased as individual modules. The ARK Education Initiative staff will work individually with your school or district to meet your instructional needs.
Yes, we offer all modules as a turn-key solution. That is, we provide the teacher training, curriculum, materials and equipment. From start to finish, you can count us for ongoing support and follow-up.
ARK Education Initiative solutions are aligned to national standards and customers are welcome to reach out to us if they need specific alignment to standards related to their state.
